Damast Parquet

Damast parquet from HWB Furniere adds a distinctive quality: legal timber harvesting, a wide range of applications and unlimited availability.

01

Damast – the architect's floor

Damast parquet is a plank-format parquet floor for premium and exclusive interiors. The wear layer of this multi-layer engineered parquet is a high-quality ALPI thick-cut veneer (2.8 mm) – a knife-cut veneer with a unique surface.

Exceptional design timbers with exotic or naturally impossible textures transform residential, commercial, hotel and restaurant spaces into refined environments. Attractive, hard-to-source or protected timbers such as ebony, Makassar or rosewood are reproduced by special manufacturing processes from timbers sourced from controlled cultivation.

"Damast parquet by HWB" combines wood design made in Italy, production made in Germany, and product development and distribution led by HWB GmbH.

02

Damast parquet – the advantages

01

Compact construction

At 8.4 mm thickness, subsequent installation is straightforward.

02

Unlimited availability

Even rare timbers such as Makassar, rosewood, zebrano or root figure can be reproduced at any time from timbers sourced from controlled cultivation.

03

Timber from legal harvesting

All timbers used comply with the requirements of the EU Timber Regulation EUTR 995/2010, which penalises the trade and placing on the market of timber of doubtful origin.

04

Diverse design options

Almost all ALPIlignum veneers can be used for Damast parquet.

05

Wide range of applications

Damast parquet can be laid on all common substrates and is suitable for underfloor heating.

04

Damast parquet – special features

Damast parquet makes it possible to produce exotic-looking parquet planks from timbers sourced from controlled cultivation. Rare species such as rosewood, Makassar or zebrano are reproduced, which offers two advantages: the rare timbers are not felled and processed, and the reproductions are available at any time in the required quantity.

The multi-layer parquet with high-quality ALPI veneers as the wear layer gives architects, planners and designers every option for material coordination with ceiling, walls, doors and furniture, as exactly matching ALPI veneers in standard thickness are available for every Damast parquet. The surface of the parquet is raw pre-sanded for on-site finishing, or end-oiled in natural or white.

05

Damast parquet – certifications

Damast parquet is produced in Germany and can receive the following certifications:

01

Fire classification

Dfl-s1 – to DIN EN 13501-1.

02

Slip resistance test

R9 (parallel 8.5° / transverse 11.0°).

03

Legal timber harvesting

all timbers to EU Timber Regulation EUTR 995/2010.

06

Hardness test

Damast parquet – Brinell test

The hardness and resistance of a parquet floor is measured by a test method named after the Swedish engineer Johan August Brinell: a defined steel ball is pressed onto the wood surface with a specified force for a set period, the indentation is measured and converted to a Brinell hardness figure. The smaller the indentation, the higher the value – and the harder the material. * Averages derived from internal and external laboratory tests as well as relevant literature.
